Darrell Calton, Safety

Both Darrell and Jacob are a part of the Capital Sand Company team! On June 2nd, 2022, Captain Darrell Calton and Jacob Wise assisted in a water rescue of a capsized canoe in the Missouri River and saved the lives of two individuals. Darrell has worked for Capital Sand Company for 29 years, all of which have been on the dredging crew. He is always very attentive to conditions and situations that he sees while working on the water. Darrell’s attentiveness on this day may have saved the two individual’s lives. Jacob had only worked for the company for a couple of months at the time of this incident. He was new to the river environment and his willingness to help in this situation is commendable.
